Robert Pattinson: Breaking Dawn Birth Scene Is "Hardcore"

Twilight madness took over Comic Con Thursday, as Breaking Dawn stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart arrived to chat about the first installment of the final story. In Stephenie Meyer's final book, Stewart's Bella gives birth to Edward Cullen's half-vampire baby, Renesmee. If you've read the book, you know that it's portrayed as a graphic, bloody scene -- and Pattinson warns fans that's just what we're going to get in the film, as well.

"The birth scene is so different from everything else in the movie," he told the audience. "For a fantasy series it goes quite far. It's hardcore, it's graphic. There's no other way to do it. It was fun."

Adding to the intensity of the scene, is the new territory Edward finds himself in.

"You never really get to play Edward in a way that he's literally so aware of his own helplessness," the brooding star said. "Either he's completely in control or pretends he is, but here there's no on else around, and there's nothing he can do and he's just desperate. Normally when that happens, Bella comes in and saves the day. But Bella isn't there ... he's totally annihilated by the situation."
