Robert Pattinson in Empire Magazine's Sexiest Characters in Cinema

Robert Pattinson recently trounced DiCaprio in Empire Magazine's "Sexiest Character in Cinema" poll. Empire—who knows a thing or two about films—romped through cinema's past and present and compiled a revealing list based on votes by the public. With some surprising results.

Coming in at a respectable #12, R-Pattz as "Edward Cullen" beat out George Clooney's "Danny Ocean" and Robert Downey Jr twice as "Tony Stark" in the Iron Man franchise and "Sherlock Holmes." Rob also cleaned house with Matt Damon as the amnesic spy "Jason Bourne," Tom Hiddleston as "Loki" in Thor and The Avengers—and even Clark Gable's "Rhett Butler" as the classic heart-throb in Gone with the Wind.

But wait, there's more. Robert Pattinson's path of destruction didn't stop there. Picking off Russell Crowe's "Maximus" in Gladiator, even Humphrey Bogart's "Rick Blaine" in Casablanca, Rob also bested "Jack Dawson," Leo DiCaprio's doomed hero in Titanic. Cary Grant and Gene Kelly also snuffed it, as did Tom Hardy (Inception) and Nathan Fillion (Serenity).
